Griffin,
For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of having a baby. When I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up…where I was going to college… who I was going to marry… where I was going to live…I DID know one thing. I knew that more than anything in this world I wanted to be a mother.
Now, as I sit here and await your arrival thinking back on the journey that has brought me to today, I can’t help but smile.
I don’t think you realize how much your mama wants to meet you! I have done some pretty crazy things to speed up your entrance into this world. I have gone on many long walks (Buddy and Molly thank you for that),I have slept sitting straight up, I have even sat on an exercise ball and bounced up and down for many days trying to get you to hurry up and get here!
I am curious about many things: I want to know what you are going to look like…I want to know what you will act like. Will you have green eyes like me and your grandma that is in Heaven? Will you be athletic and a hard-worker like your Daddy? Will you be caring like your brother Cam? Will you be a quick learner like your big sis Lydia? Will you sing like your Uncle Kev?
You are already so loved. So many people have prayed for you before you were even in my tummy. They all knew how much your Dad and I wanted to have you, and prayed for God to bless us with a child. God has given us that blessing, and for that I am so grateful.
You, my son, are a blessing. I pray for you daily. I pray that you are healthy. I pray that you are a strong and smart young man who loves the Lord and his family with all of his heart. I pray that you make good decisions and enjoy the little things in life. I pray that you are a leader. I pray that you are outgoing and a friend to everyone. I pray that you are generous and have a big heart. I pray that you are funny, caring, and optimistic. I pray that you are hard-working, witty, and well-behaved J.
In just a few short days or less we will meet. I am anxiously awaiting your arrival. Please hurry up and come see me! I already love you more than words can express, and I promise to do everything in my power to be the best mom ever to you. I give you my word to continue to pray for you daily, protect you, and do everything I can to provide the best life ever for you. I am going to ask for your forgiveness in advance for the times that I mess up. ( I have a feeling it will be quite a lot because you and I are going to be learning a lot of things together!)
I love you so much!,
Mom
