New update...
I went to the Dr. today for my weekly checkup...
She said that I am still dialated at a 1.
Effaced 70%
Cervix "extremely soft"
My next appointment is next Wednesday at 3:15. She will decide then if I stop my medicine that day, or wait until that Saturday, April 14th to stop all of my meds. (the pills I am taking to slow down pre-term labor and contractions)
If I have not had Griff by my 39th week.... (which she said she highly doubts he will stay put for that long) then I get to be induced on Saturday, 5/5/12.
However, not sure if I want him to be born on Cinco De Mayo....so my next option would be....Monday, 5/7/12.........
We will see! :-)

Drama...Bed Rest....Womp, Womp.
I have a lot to catch up on because I haven't posted in awhile. ( I am going to make a very long story as short as possible) So.....here we go:
Tuesday, March 20 (my 31st birthday) I started getting contractions at school. Well, at the time I didn't know they were contractions. After talking to the Dr.'s assistant I was told that they were not contractions...so I just decided to talk to the Dr. about it on the following day because I had an appointment.
Wednesday, March 21... I went to Dr. Walker and she told me that the pains I was having were indeed contractions. She did a cervical exam and discovered that my cervix was "too soft" so she sent me directly to the Perinatal specialist at MCA hospital.
I went and picked David up from work and we headed to MCA. Once I got there, they hooked me up to a monitor and confirmed that I was having contractions. Then, they did a more in depth cervical exam doing a sonogram and discovered that instead of my cervix being between 40-50mm like it was supposed to be....it was at 24mm. The specialist put me on official "bed-rest" at that point. Wow, was I surprised to hear this news! Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!
However, in the middle of all of this "bad"news...we did get to see Griffin on camera during the sonogram. They said that he was measuring perfect! He was 4 lbs 12 ounces.... and even turned his head for a quick picture before turning his head away from the camera again.
The specialist put me on medicine to help control my contractions and keep me from pre-term labor. He also told me (after having a convo with my Dr.) that I would be having 2 steriod shots (one Thursday and one Friday) that would help develop Griffin's lungs JUST IN CASE I were to have him early.
Thursday, March 22... I called in to work that day as "sick" so that I could go ahead and have my work shower that afternoon. I went to the Dr. and was given my first steroid shot. At 3:30, David drove me up to the school and I had my shower. Man, did that shower take it out of me! After I got home, later that night...I started having contractions. So many in fact that David called Courtney and she said that we needed to go to MCA to get me checked out. Once we got there, they hooked me up to another monitor and saw that I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes. SO, they gave me a shot to stop the contractions and sent me home about midnight. They told me that if I were to get more than 8-10 contractions in 1 hour to go back up there.
Friday, March 23 ..... I had a rough night of sleep Thursday night and woke up Friday morning having quite a few contractions again. However, I had a 9:30 appointment to get my second steroid shot, so I waited to talk to the Dr. when I got there about all of the contractions I was still having.
Once I got to the Dr., she hooked me up to a monitor...AGAIN...and saw that I was having contractions every 2-7 minutes. So, we increased my meds again...and was given specific directions on medicine dosages if I were to continue to have them.
Since then, I have had to increase my meds 3 times.... For the most part, we have my contractions under control...but I have the side effect of a severe headache most of the time. Right now I am taking a pill every 4 hours around the clock to control my contractions.
I have been quite emotional as I miss things like church, soccer games, I'm having to miss Camden's 11th birthday party this Friday, Easter, etc. I also had to leave my classroom on March 21st for a Dr. appointment and don't get to go back. So, the fact that I didn't get to say goodbye to my students and I might not see them again this school year has hit me pretty hard as well. Sub plans, finding a long term sub, etc....whew....it's been crazy/frustrating/depressing/sad/etc.
As of today, I am 34.3 weeks and Dr. Walker says that we will stop all of my meds at 36 weeks. (So that would be April 14) From then until my due date....only God knows when my little blessing will come.
Everyone is trying to guess when he will make his debut....David says before May for sure....however, I am going to say that he is going to stick it out until the beginning of May......WE WILL SEE!! :-)
I am not supposed to be sitting at the computer right now....so, I will update with another post with all of my shower pictures later.
Still blessed regardless of all of this DRAMA! :-)
