Construction 99% complete/ Melon Smuggler

Whoo hoooo! As of yesterday afternoon, the construction is 99% complete....and it looks amazing! So grateful to my dad and Eddie for doing the majority of it and to David and Alex's "crew" for the painting. I am so excited....it looks SO good! Here is a picture of the half wall that was added:

While at the grocery store today, we bought quite a bit of fruit and veggies....we are really trying to eat healthy these days. However, it looks like I came home with an extra melon! You can now call me the melon smuggler! :-)

Construction/29 week bump/Our baby has a name!!!

Well, as the days draw near for our sweet Baby J to come in to this world....there was/is a lot of prep work that needs to be done to the house. We are changing what used to be our computer room into the nursery. We are also changing what used to be our formal living room into the den/computer room. This involved adding walls/half walls, painting, etc.

The whole process has taken about a week and a half so far and I think it will be complete (for the most part) by the end of the week. It is all becoming so real as the construction takes place! I have taken a few pictures of the construction project along the way.

29.3 weeks



AND.......

After MANY, many conversations about what to name our sweet baby boy. We have finally come up with a name! :-) With our last name being "Johnson" it is rather hard to come up with a name that does not have some kind of interesting (for lack of better words) con-notation. For example:





Steele is David and Lydia's favorite name for our baby. And yes, I love the name Steele....it is a great name for a strong athlete. However, Steele Johnson also sounds like a porn star name and I refuse to name my child that.



Holden. Man, I love the name Holden. I just sounds so studly. BUT, once again. Holden Johnson....... need I say more?

Drum Roll Please.....................................

Our final decision has been made.......

Griffin Johnson is our baby's name! Griffin.......I just LOVE it!! It is unique enough to not have a lot of other children with the same name. Yet, it is not too abstract.....and it goes with Johnson perfectly!

Now, we just have to come up with a middle name.

The middle name is definitely going to be a family name so our options are:

Griffin Christopher

Griffin James

or

Griffin David

I am strongly leaning towards Griffin Christopher.....but, it isn't official quite yet.

I think that is all for now......I will post pictures of the completed construction as soon as I can take some.
