Mr. Literal

Due to the bad weather one day last week, Camden and Lydia were stuck inside having to play with each other all day. Both David and I had stopped both of them from bickering with each other quite a few times that day already.

Lydia was following Camden around everywhere he went...and I could tell that it was really starting to get to him. So, when both of the kids walked into the living room where David and I were....I asked Cam "What is the matter?"

Immediately he started crying and said that Lydia wouldn't leave him alone. Right away, David had Cam go to his room so that he could talk to him.

David proceeded to follow Cam into his bedroom and tell him that this cannot happen all summer. There were plenty of things to do and toys to play with not and not to bicker with his sister. Since Camden was so tired, David said to him "Go to the bathroom and then lay down." We could both tell that he just needed to take a nap.

Despite the fact that he was so upset, Camden did as he was told. After being in the bathroom for about 5 minutes, I went and asked David what Camden was doing. David said "he is using the restroom."

Because he had been in there for so long, I went up to the door and said "Camden, what are you doing?" In a very sad voice ( I could tell that he was still crying) He said "laying down."

Camden had taken David literally and went into the restroom and laid down on the floor.

In reality, David simply meant for him to "Go to the restroom, and then lay down (on his bed) "

Camden is so precious, he does not ever want to upset his Daddy...and always follows his directions. This time, there was just a little misunderstanding. :-)

Our very own stand up comedian....

Summer 2010 has officially started!

Today is our first official day of summer with the kiddos. While David and Cam were at jump rope camp this morning....Lydia and I drew on the driveway with sidewalk chalk and then had a WATER GUN FIGHT!! We had so much fun! By the end of it we were completely soaked. One of Lydia's hiding spots was behind the trash bags that were on the curb.

After the boys got home, we went to Grampy's pool to swim. We spent about 2 hours there and now we are going to the Ranger game tonight at 7:05. Fun times!! Here's to hoping our summer is awesome!
